The haunting myth of Persephone moves thru this beautifully colored piece, enhanced with metallic paints. Words included in the painting tell us that "Persephone waits for Winter to turn into Spring and the Dead to be reborn anew." As Goddess of the underground and overseer of the spirits of the dead, she wears a skull necklace but also rose from the underground each spring to bring the new growth of spring. In the painting she is surrounded by crossed out symbols of the dead as well as a large butterfly and the many seeds of new possibility and life from a pomegranate as she floats between the many veils of her multiple realms. She brings the images of new birth and possibility to all whose lives she shares What has she to offer you? . This wonderfully positive, original piece is mounted on black foam core with a Plexiglas covering held by Uniframe clips . It is ready to hang as it is, sized 26" x 34" .
