An original painting, this richly colored and detailed "30 x 40" subject came from my real life encounter with a snake at my home. There is much contained symbolism here from shedding the old and growing into the new, to transformation magic that grew from that encounter. Notice how the butterfly's antennae become a snake's eyes as they merge visually. That was a completely unplanned and synchronous happening as I was working. This lush and beautiful painting holds story upon story within including the powers of the aspen and their powerful community represented in the side of the figure's hair, along with many, many prayers to help create a powerful healing energy.
