Description
The Backbone of Peace: Strength of Lace
Beauty of Roses,
Rootedness of the Aspen
In what has unbelievably become a time of war like those in the Twentieth Century, I found myself wondering what exactly were the "Rules" of War? What was "acceptable". Where was the red line between defense and aggression and offense? As I tried to sort that out, I knew that I believed war never is a true solution. But how can one negotiate if the other party is not willing to do that? My guides began talking to me, whispering and informing me until I understood that war can never be dismantled until we live with a different set of values, until we believe in
The Strength of Lace
The Beauty of Roses
and the
Rootedness of the Aspens.
When we take those qualities as our Guides, then we will be creating a Backbone of Peace. Impossible? That is our assignment to live beyond the possible and learn how to create this reality. If we cannot even dream of that reality, then it will never come true, so it is important for us to have physical images of these thoughts. Energy follows thought. This was a shamanic undertaking for me. If we think more positively, we can find ways to create that as a reality...And so I painted this, as an image to help us remember the positive, rather than focusing only on the negative.
ORIGINAL PAINTING - Painted in layers with iridescent acrylics and glitter, this signed, original piece is created around a piece of body mapping as taught by Laura Hollick. I wanted each part of my body to have an opportunity to speak about this subject so my partner drew all around me as I lay on the canvas. Lush, intense and intricate, I added a backbone I drew on handmade paper I had created, along with pieces of actual Aspen bark that helped create their trunks. The image is about those qualities that give us a strength that goes beyond war. It is done on 36" x 48" stretched canvas.
It can be yours for a Heart Gift of $1900.00 plus $150.00 shipping in the USA
